This garden is located north of Seattle. The client requested a perennials garden in a classical style. The challenge; large boulders left during construction of the home. Incorporating them into the design and using them as actual features created visual interest and a casual Northwest twist. Benches, pathways and a fountain water feature were also added.

Classic pots mark the entrance to the garden, stairs and upper deck. Concrete pavers create the small patio and are permeable. Scale of the fountain was very important; too small and it would be lost, too large and it would over power this small garden. It also needed to hold its own against the large boulders.
